Can steam power plant work with a compressor instead of condenser and heat pump?
Steam
power plant cannot work by replacing condenser and heat pump with a compressor
this is because at the outlet of turbine there would be a mixture of steam and
water and there is no device which can move a mixture of steam and water from
one place to another at same time so either first we have to convert the
mixture in vapor state or liquid state. So here in this case mixture is
completely converted into water and then pumped to boiler.
FLUID DENSITY DEPENDANCE MORE ON TEMPRATURE THAN PRESSURE
Density of fluid depends more on temperature than
pressure. Mathematical reason is co-efficient of volume of thermal expansion
above equation shows that changing temperature
would cause greater volume change and consequently density would be more
affected by temperature.
Physical reason is that by changing
pressure volume change takes place in one dimension whereas changing temperature
would cause volume change in all 3 directions.
